Thanks, a bit 1980's in style.

Looks like 4:3 stretched.

Indeed, it doesn't look very professional, does it, for something that could be created in moments?

The data for the channel on the Now/Next banner is simply the standard "Programmes are no longer available" on repeating slots.

No, it's not in HD. It's from a DVB -S transponder operated by Sky which is currently used for Challenge/+1/Ireland, Forces TV and the slides for the now defunct SBO channels which remain on the EPG.

Does it need to be in HD?

Looks like Sky are getting ready to switch the EPG to point to that channel once Discovery's channels disappear.

It will be interesting to see what happens. If the ball is in Discovery's court as Sky suggest then there should be a gap between the channels disappearing and that slide being shown.

I assume viewers will get:

(image from google)

http://bskyb.i.lithium.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/18052iF50BD2D34B857949?v=1.0

Turn over, and back, and then you will see the black withdrawn screen. Im sure that is what happened before when they changed frequency on a channel.

It depends how it happens. If Discovery stop broadcasts, Sky may well do as above and change to their single. Discovery may keep broadcasting, maybe just a promo on a loop instead and Sky will do nothing until they can.

Guys, just an update. According to a DS user, a Sky feed has appeared with a message about Discovery no longer being available.

4461 11.836 H 27.5 5/6 DVB-S OPSK now showing a caption saying "Unfortunately Sky is not able to bring you this channel as the broadcaster has withdrawn it from the Sky platform".

It's definitely there . . .

FTA which is nice of them Laughing
