Eurosport slightly ruining the Australian Open win there by talking about this dispute over scenes of Federer celebrating. Could have waited a few minutes lads.

Totally disagree. That was probably their audience peak for the day. If you want to make sure the largest number of people know about it - that's precisely the time to discuss it.

Oh, I'm sure, but it could have been done with more consideration than the way it was done. Left me with a bad taste personally.

Didn't see it, but in my opinion programme content should take priority over the relative vulgarities of subscription notices.

I'm wondering whether this dispute has grown this morning. Adverts on Eurosport are missing and being replaced by 'mini Watts like' featurettes being inserted apparently manually into the programming. Sudden transitions are obvious. As Sky have sold adverts for the service I'm considering if they have withdrawn that suddenly.

Just turned over to Eurosport 1 and there was a Vitality advert playing out...

Saw that, but the latest break at 1215 was back to sudden switch and no 'commercial' content, just trailers, something is definately up, whether 'political' or technical I wonder.

Was this on 1 or 2? 1 looked normal to me?

Eurosport 1. Crashing in and out of the break is definately not normal.

(Edit - new theory, stretching out short length, highlight programme content, to fit slot allocated - if so being done very, very badly)

Eurosport 2 is currently showing filler - crashed out of the breakbumper after 1 second of showing it... I see what you mean. It's not right.

Any issues on any of Discovery's other channels?

It is an interesting point about adverts on Discovery Networks channels beyond Wednesday.

They (or whoever is selling the dead air in the programmes for them) would have sold advertising packages for the clients weeks in advance, based on the family of Discovery channels share and reach - in part by being on the Sky platform.

Guess Discovery will have to give a lot of that back, if they are removed/remove themselves from Sky in a couple of days time. Advertisers will want some sort of refund if they are limited to VM and Quest via Freeview.

Guys I hate to crash your theory, but I have been speaking to the guys over on the Sky forum, and one of the moderators have explained that Eurosport has a separate advertising contract that was signed before the Discovery takeover, so the adverts on Eurosport are nothing to do with Sky.

I know Eurosport playout is at Arqiva Feltham. Are the rest of the Discovery channels there too, or are they in-house in Chiswick?

Sounds like Mean Broadcast is struggling to fill the slots.
