Series link is only ment to work on one channel Laughing

Yeah I know that, but thats next to usless unless it tapes 'programe x' whenever it sees it whatever channel its on its a total white elephant

WHAT Exclamation Confused: Exclamation Shocked Series link is for the channel the programme is on and not the programme no matter which channel it's on? They never made that clear! I thought that if you wanted to record a show like Frasier it would tape all of the episodes no matter which channel it was on.

i think overall, Sky + is great. I couldnt live with out it, as I can watch programmes when it suits me, rather than shaping my life around schedules. Yes, it cocks up a few times, but thats usualy due to bad signal in a storm, or EPG errors.

If your planning to get Sky +. get it.... its worth the money.

I don't find it troublesome at all, infact I find it a lifesaver! The only problems I've had is a few failed recordings due to a bad signal which you can only blame on God.

What it needs is a PIN number to delete programmes of the Planner, that's all.

Belive me, it isnt usless. Its useful, for example if your going on holiday, and want to record Eastenders, so series link eastenders, and it will record every eastenders, so whey you come back, you have them all there.

So I'd do a series link for EastEnders on BBC1 and UK Gold if I wanted to record all of the episodes then?

If you wanted all the new episodes on BBC One, series link it on BBC One, then if you also want the UK Gold repeats, series link it on UK Gold aswell

Absolutely no Sky information package has said that Sky+ will record programmes across different channels. That was just your assumption.

Series Link isn't a redundant feature. It's exceptionally good imho. I can set it to record a programme like Wonderfalls and Sky+ picks up if it moves slot on Sky One or even day.

So when you see minor alterations to the EPG sometimes during the day, the Sky+ box will spot where a show has moved to and record it? I was worried that if I record a BBC show on Sky+, without a videoplus signal it would miss it. One other question, when I ordered Sky+ over the phone the gentleman said that they sent a signal to all of the current boxes so that it can now record 40 hours instead of 20. Have any Sky+ users here noticed the difference?

To your first question, yes it will spot the changes,

secondly Ive not spotted the difference as of yet.... never even knew they were doing it. It depends on the Hard drive size.

Edit:
400th Post!!!! Cheers

If you get a Sky+v3, which you undoubtably will you'll get 40hrs recording.

As to your other question, yep. If for example BBC MotD is moved from 10:45 to 11:05, as with last night then Sky+ will pick up the move and record it.

The only restriction is if the programme is moved more than 6 hours.
