I still think the opening sequence and the music don't quite fit with the show.. not sure why its too relaxed and sounds like something from a local magazine show...

Have to agree. It has always baffled me, while I like the title sequence graphics, and can see how it fits in as its quite 'street' the happy hardcore music doesnt relate to any of the show! I do love the theme though, notice the theme is slightly different this series too. Wink

happy hardcore

Confused I wouldn't call it Happy Hardcore. Happy Hardcore would be a choice of style ever so slightly more in tune with show I would think, although I can't say I've seen any hardcore kids in the show yet.

Great series so far - quite different in tone to the last series and alot more grown up. It's also helped greatly by the fact the plots aren't revealed before hand - today's main event was completely unexpected.

And they really left it on a cliffhanger tonight - couldn't believe it when they showed that scene and then jumped to the credits.

Have to say how utterly fantastic this show is. Series 2 is so brilliant. As much as I loved Series 1, the second run is something else. Tonight's episode was just excellent.

Whilst this series has been excellent, tonights episode just didn't really go anywhere for me. Whilst Sid's Dad's death was the defining point of the episode, beyond that for me it was a pretty weak episode compared to the others.

I found the first two episodes weak if anything, focusing too much on Maxxie. However last nights episode felt lot more like Series 1. Really sad to see Sid suffer, yet its great how they managed to get Tony and Sid talking again.

Good episode last night.

Didn't the woman who plays Sid's mum used to be a regular on Whose Line Is It Anyway? Or am I just getting confused?

There did seem an uncomfortable shift in tone at that point where we went from an episode set entirely in Sid's house with virtually none of the other characters to a sudden shift to the college - though that did make sense as Sid opened up to Tony later on.

What a twist at the end of tonights episode. Only the writers of skins could have come up with that.
Great episode, glad to see the back of the freaky tone from the first few episodes of the series.

Oh my god! They've axed the cast.

The creators of Skins have confirmed that they are looking for an entirely new cast when the teen series returns to E4 and Channel 4 next year.
Speaking at Broadcast's TV Drama Forum, executive producer Bryan Elsley and series producer Chris Clough said they envisaged refreshing the cast every two years for as long as it is on air.

It will continue to focus on characters aged 16 to 18 and complete their storylines as they go to university or begin their careers.

I'd have thought they'd get one more year out of this lot at least, and then probably end it.

A complete refresh is never going to work - if they want to move on to a different set of characters they really need to bring them in alongside current characters, using younger brothers/sisters etc. to link them in and then fade out the older characters and make the younger ones centre stage the next year.

Big. Mistake.

I doubt I'll be watching next year in that case.
