Call me old fashioned but I'm not in to this online premiere thing - much rather wait a few days and watch it on proper telly!

Notice this time around Skins is getting a quick repeat on C4, airing on Thursdays at 10.30pm, and presumably on C4 HD too.

It does seem strange though that as digital TV has become more and more widely available, programmes once exclusive to digital TV at least until their series ended now get a "terrestrial" airing usually within the week.

I'm young and can't understand it either. To me, I prefer to sit down and watch a programme in full on the big screen at one time.

I just don't get why people want to watch it in terrible quality.

Yes, I agree with you too. I just don't see why anyone would want to watch it on a computer if you have the choice to wait a few days and see it on a proper screen with a quality picture.

This series is very different to the last. I'm slightly disappointed, but maybe it will take time to adapt to the new series. Loving how they have combined all the previous minor characters in the gay storyline with Maxi, very clever!

Outstanding first episode - well worth waiting to watch it on proper TV too.

Great stuff from Nicholas Hoult as Tony - and so refreshing to not see a character after an accident be stuck in a wheelchair for a couple of weeks before making a miraculous recovery. It'll be interesting to see how this develops throughout the series.

And great support from Bill Bailey and Harry Enfield too. Who played Maxxie's mum - recognised her, but couldn't place her.

I'm sure she was on a comedy show on Channel 4 a few years ago?

Yeah she was on Smack the Pony, Fiona Someoneorother I think.

EDIT: Fiona Allen apparently.

I obviously watched Smack the Pony more than I remember then.

It'll be interesting to see how many of the older guest stars return this year as the parents and whether any have been recast in the hope we don't notice.

Loved the first episode! The show seems to be heading in a new direction now and I like it. The transformation of Tony's character is quite significant and will add a new dimension to the series. Looking forward to seeing how it all develops.

Tenuous link but I'd forgotten how forgettable Skins actual theme is. It's certainly far more associated with the music from the promos - definately last years and even this years considering how long the promos seem to have been running.

I still think the opening sequence and the music don't quite fit with the show.. not sure why its too relaxed and sounds like something from a local magazine show...
