is it still a BBC Sport production? (January 2008)

Ski Sunday has relaunched and seems to be more like the Holiday programme, and is devoid of BBC Sport branding.

It is mentioned on the BBC Sport website, but is it still a BBC Sport production/comission?

Indeed it is back, without BBC Sport branding. It never really felt like a BBC Sport programme unless it was actually covering competitive skiing. It always felt more like a sport magazine.

I think it may still be produced by BBC Sport, though. But I like the new titles and logo!

This is really confusing it's gone 'filmic' or 'hd' too with the course coverage.

It'll be interesting to see the red button stuiff at 8pm.

Does it still use the classic "Pop Goes Bach" theme tune?

I haven't seen it but surely going 'filmic' (reducing the number of fields) would make fast moving action like skiing look horribly juddery?

Yes. Just to answer my own question, yes it is a BBC Sport production, not even an indie comission.

Interesting they opted for no credits too.

I'm sure TWI had been producing Ski Sunday during the last couple of years though, rather than BBC Sport - but I could be wrong on that.

Great show anyway - I think they got the balance just about right by making the features interesting enough for those waiting for the competitive stuff to sit through, and similarly with the competitive stuff for those not really interested in skiing as a sport, but more as a hobby.

What rights though do the BBC have now - don't C4 now have the rights to most events?
