Sjónvarpið

A few years ago I picked up Sjónvarpið purely by accident on my Sky Box with a 60cm dish aligned to pick up Astra 2D and Eurobird 28.5 E. I deleted the channels but I'd like to try and pick it up again. Does anyone know what the frequency is?

There was an experiment to carry Icelandic TV on Astra a few years ago - not sure if it is still running. (Think the idea was to see how viable it was to receive Astra 2A - or B, or Eurobird - that far north)

Actually I'm pretty sure it was a four day thing for the Icelandic elections so the ex-pats could watch the coverage. After the election had ended the live re-broadcasting of the output ended, and was replaced by repeats of the localised version of Who Want's to Be A Millionaire.

I remember that the TV coverage didn't start till mid-Afternoon about 4pm but you could be right. I do remember seeing a little bit of some serious thing an election quite possibly and also a bit of Friends with Iceland subtitles.
