The original studios BBC News used at TV Centre (having moved from Ally Pally) were 30x40 metric feet, approx, with one of them being extended slightly to become 30x50 but the extension was lower than the rest of the studio.
Originally N1 and N2, these studios are now TC10 and TC11, and available for general use hire.
Then if it's not possible to find out the size, I want to ask this question.
Is 100 sq m enough for a news studio?
Depends what you want to do.
The studio that the Newsnight (and the Six O'Clock News) set is in is approx 3500 square feet, or approx 325 square metres. The actual set is a lot smaller than this, and is larger than needed for a straightforward big for a news show.
100 square metres should be fine for a relatively straight forward news programme - it's not huge, but not impossibly tiny either.
Of course other issues other than floor area, like ceiling height can't be ignored - as low ceilings cause massive lighting compromises. (The lower the ceiling, the more difficult to keep key lights off backings)
I want to have a news channel based in there (with an identical back-up studio next door). It would have a BBC Breakfast-style sofa for the Business and Sports news, (with a bigger, oval-shaped table) a weather screen, a news screen, and plenty of space for cameras and crew, but still have room for a wide-shot using a jimmy jib. Would it be big enough?

BBC Scotland's News studio ( Studio C) is 180 sqm.
I think they've used a jib for the old politics show. They have 3 back projected screens, a baking tray and the old N6 circular desk with space at each side to stand for weather/sport.
The other side of the studio has 'the review show'

You want a news channel based in there, do you now? Are we to assume this is a legit enquiry or you just trying to make imagination time slightly more grounded in reality?

The Rota is already done this is just the finishing touches...
Totally random but does anyone know the length of the jib in TC7? Is it built full length, usually about 24ft or is a built as a shorty (usually identifiable by only 1 rear section rather than the usual 2)

Only if you need to know for coursework or starting your own news channel. Or both.

Well, the building's for sale, so if fireydraco is very rich, maybe that's what they have in mind?

I'm not rich... and like I mentioned before, it's a project.

So you are just renting the studio for the duration you need it?
