In as much as this is a thread on egg chasing, I'm not sure it's the right place for this discussion.

We do have a Pancake Day sting. looks just like last year.

Not quite, there's more detail on the pancake and a shadow.

Last year...

Can we have the pancake day discussion moved to a separate thread, please?

On week 2 of the 6 Nations, Tommy Bowe the injured Ireland winger joined Eddie Butler & Brian Moore in the commentary box for France v Ireland with Lee McKenzie reporting and the Wales v Scotland coverage was as stated on the BBC website except Sonja McLaughlan reporting. For Rugby Special John Inverdale presented from Salford alongside Jonathan Davies, Lewis Moody and Victor Matfield Eddie Butler and Mark Cueto commentating on ITV live match Italy v England. ITV team and coverage was as advertised on their website.

Just out of interest BBC have uploaded the full live ITV match to iplayer complete with their own commentary but without studio presentation so for week 1 Ireland v Wales is on iplayer with commentary by Eddie Butler & Tomas O'Leary and for week 2 Italy v England is on with Butler & Cueto

The biggest surprise for me of the weekend is Miles Harrison commentating for ITV especially as he was not mentioned as a commentator in their press release with Martin Gillingham named as the other commentator for live matches. Andrew Cotter & Lewis Moody did England v Ireland and Alastair Eykyn & Chris Paterson did Italy v Scotland for the BBC highlights while Simon Ward did Wales v France for ITV.

The broadcasters in each country act as the host broadcaster and it was mentioned during the World Cup that ITV put some features in at Twickenham with the Six Nations also in mind.

I suspect it will be one OB provider providing the world feeds always encrypted on 10e, and the unilaterals are on top of this and this maybe using their own OB provider or the same one.

Gareth Thomas on Scrum V tonight despite being ITV's main Wales pundit.

Martin Gillingham reminding us what a boring commentator he is today, turning an 11 try match into a dull couple of hours of television. ITV need a much better second commentator for next year - Miles Harrison is much better.

On the whole though really enjoying ITV's coverage and it does feel like the coverage isn't playing second fiddle to the ads - at the end of Ireland v Italy they returned straight to the studio for a bit of analysis (not too long, but the BBC have similarly been rushed off air for the news or Final Score), and then a very brief break before turning to the build up of England v Wales.

Really? I thought the commentary team for Ireland V Italy was very good including Martin Gillingham who I think should be ITV no 2.

Miles Harrison leading the flagship match with Nick Mullins and Martin Bayfield obviously not released for international duty by BT Sport this weekend with a full Premiership fixture list, including a game in the USA tonight.

RTE has assigned Ryle Nugent, who would normally cover Ireland games, to England v Wales today instead. (Of course, Nugent is also director of sport, so it's entirely possible he picks and chooses his own games).

BBC showed highlights from yesterdays matches in he first half an hour of their coverage of Scotland v France today from 2pm-2.30pm. ITV are showing highlights tonight so Brekkie was right whoever covers the last match of the weekend the other broadcaster shows highlights and tonight it is listed as Jill Douglas hosting alongside Ugo Monye, Gordon D'Arcy & Gareth Thomas.

Andrew Cotter & Keith Wood covered Ireland v Italy and Eddie Butler & Brian Moore covered England v Wales for BBC highlights and Martin Gillingham covered Scotland v France for ITV highlights.
