Anyone technical know what the problem could be with Bid and the sound (or lack of it)?

Numerous things, including sound desk power supply, sound desk set up (if digital), audio routers / matricies, configuration problems on codecs or even finger trouble when trying to get things up running in a hurry resulting in something accidentally getting unplugged.

There's so many things which can result in lost sound that unless it something obvious (like flames coming out of the back of something) the only way to fix it is generally to trace the entire signal path and see where the sound disappears. Then you get that fixed, and discover something else has changed and you now have horribly distorted or humming sound which you still can broadcast and the hunt starts again. All while you have production and management shouting at you for not being quick enough!

By the looks of it they've been hit by one of Murphy's collalary laws - everything that can go wrong, will.

Bid TV briefly put on-screen the orange graphic but have now gone back to Price-drop even though there is still no sound.

Bid TV cut to a "Bid TV" logo screen with the website. Then to the Orange breakdown screen and now back to Price Drop, still with no sound.

EDIT: Now back to the Orange breakdown screen.

It's an odd one as I think the breakdown slide had sound but it's not studio related as the simulcast of Pricedrop is mute too. The fact that the audio isn't back yet means that it's probably as much of a mystery to the engineers there! (either that or they know what it is but done't have a spare)

In my experience in these circumstances there'll always be one bit of kit that will die totally, one that will do something crazy, one that will lose all it's settings and one that will need a password.... which you never realised even needed a password
