Peter Simon has a tendency to waffle on endlessly, cut sentences off and point out random things all in the same breath. According to him the channel only has a four digit phone number and the current phone number is an extension of the current quantity available ("0904 19 and against you"). And yes he claimed the station is in North East and North West London.

The studios are in Acton, near Acton Central station. Whether there is some sort of facility further up the chain in North London I don't know but I'd have thought that the problem was at the studios seeing what a mess everything was when they came back.

Isn't this the third time in the last 18 months or so Sit-Up TV have fell off the air due to power problems? Do they not have back-up generators? They make a fortune every day as it is.

Back up generators aren't the be-all and end-all. They have to work and replace the regular power supply without a power dip or surge if they're going to seemlessly maintain things. Even if there's a brief cut or dip it can effect equipment and take them off air. Also back up power systems don't always work, have a look at the thread about BBC Bristol over in the newsroom and remember the problems ITV had in the summer?

Also a 'power cut' isn't necessarily a break in the mains supply, it can be something further downstream - a fuse, breaker or something else after the power supplies and the equipment. Having a generator sitting in the car park isn't going to do much good if that's the case
