Let's face it, he's unlikely to find a shopping channel where he can be the Peter of old. Doubt he will be falling over the set at Gems, for example...

The other night i saw him and they took the price down to a price he wasn't expecting and he started singing Kum By Yah!

Indeed. Well Butlins will probably be calling next, and maybe he'll be available for panto without the Sit-Up telly gig.

I'm not sure he is that different on Gems TV to how he was in the last year or so on Bid[TV]. Sure he is not falling over, displaying his plums or fannying about but he did that with decreasingly regulatory over recent years anyway. It just seems like he was doing these things more because those are the famous clips that get uploaded to the YouTubes. Peter Simon is an older gentleman who may now struggle to perform the stunts demanded of him during his 14 years service at Bid [TV]. If he sticks around at Gems TV, we may get to see him down a mine. If that doesn't work out then I expect we will see him in the Australian jungle. He has spoke about doing that a few times.

So i take it that's the last we've seen Peter Simon on Gems TV? He's not been on for a while.

I'm sure he was on early last week.

Gems is no longer broadcasting between 3am and 7am (apparently this has happened before) - that might have something to do with it.

EDIT: The following is of some interest - maybe Peter Simon will be involved in this?

Quote:
[Gems TV] will use the 652 channel position to launch a new teleshopping channel, designed to “help poverty in third world countries,” called Equal World.

article here ……..

Do they simulcast Rocks TV during that downtime or is that a freeview thing only?

I saw Charlie Charleston on Ideal World. He was selling a Terratek drill. I don't know if he was called Charlie Charleston on there though.

Apparently Peter Simon is no longer employed by Gems and he was only there for a short term period. The shopping telly forums say that Steve Bennett asked Peter to 'tone it down' on air. It makes me wonder if the anti bid tv brigade on there sent off a load of complaints to Gems TV to get rid of him?

If he was there short term Peter wouldn't have needed to mention about his Gems qualification exams on air?

That forum is summed up by a recent constant slagging off of Peter Sherlock - who then decided to make a (very) polite post of his own.

Cue lots of fawning and claims from people that their posts were meant to be in jest and not personal.

Peter Simon will be appearing on Ideal World at 8pm and 10pm tomorrow as a "guest presenter". It'll be his first foray into fixed price teleshopping.
