I wonder if his "act" will come along with him?

Eitherway it's going to be a long commute for him now from London (presuming that's where he lives) to Redditch (in Worcestershire). Going to be very interesting to see how it goes considering he was with Bid Up for over 13 years.

Unconfirmed sources say he only stayed in London because he was on Bid. He actually lives somewhere on the planned HS2 route.

And Mike Mason has joined Ideal World today as well. He's on air right now.

Of course it's a good opportunity for him to get his 'act' into the US market for the first time, as the US sister channel Rocks TV is broadcast from the same facility.

So will anyone be tuning in to Gems TV this evening to see how Peter Simon does?

Yes, even though it is sure to be a massive anti-climax.

He did his usual big fanfare introduction at the top of the show "Live from the heart of the Midlands"

That was quite a good opening. Worth staying up for at least. He did a complete "Live from the heart of the Midlands" intro while out of vision, just as he did at Bid. It's a shame they couldn't stretch to buying his walk out music, Vegas Swagger 2 so that it could be 100% authentic.

9.6 out of 10. Would watch again.

So far he's exactly the same! We had his typical own styled voiceover intro 'Live from the heart of the Midlands'.

But so far he hasn't changed at all. Same facial expressions. And I'm not sure how a gem can be 'thirstquenchingly exotic'?

For a moment it looked like i was watching something in the past, especially when he interacted with the host from before. I was expecting him to call her Marina!
