I was only talking about Sir David Frost last night as his name appeared in the credits of the first episode of the new series of Through the Keyhole. He apparently owned the format, I suppose via him being part of TV-AM. I wouldn't be surprised to see the next episode dedicated to him.
Sir David Frost was a journalistic legend and an inspiration. The two best interviews he ever did, was the Richard Nixon interview in 1974, and his takedown of Emil Savundra in 1967. He will be missed by us all, but his genius lives on in those recordings.
Such a shame, but it sounds like it was sudden and (hopefully) peaceful. So many inspirations have died over the last year or so: Alastair Burnet, Patrick Moore, Kenneth Kendall, Alan Whicker and now Frost. One thing their families can take from their deaths though is that they were loved and respected by millions, and if I can achieve half of what they achieved, then I'll have lived a good life. BBC2 broadcast 'Frost/Nixon' around two Sundays ago, and I hope that either BBC or ITV show a tribute to this wonderful man. The word 'legend' is tossed around willy-nilly these days but the people I've mentioned truly were pioneers in their own rights.

Some whitewashing is taking place with his links to LWT....
I wonder if St Peter would have greeted Sir David at the Pearly Gates with the words "Hello, good evening and welcome."
Neither the Two Ronnies nor Monthy Python would have come about had it not been for Sir David as it was him who brought Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett together along with John Cleese for The Frost Report.
