Sorry if this is old news, but I've just noticed that The Simpsons on Channel 4 is now sponsored by Dominos. It took them long enough!

Oh that's nice.

On a similar note, why is that on Halloween, it's the one night when Channel 4 don't screen a Halloween episode. We get quite a few each year, but never on Halloween. Rolling Eyes

Domino's have been sponsoring the Simpsons on Sky One for at least ten years.

Are they the same as the Sky One ads?

They're running the same Pizza campaign, but the music and the V/O is different to the one on Sky One. Note the Sky One version always says 'The Simpsons on Sky One is sponsored by Dominos (Product X)'

And they've been sponsoring it on Sky One since May 1998, when the Egg look was still on-screen.

I don't see the logic of not showing an halloween episode on halloween...thats the whole point of these special episodes. The only reason I could see for not showing an halloween episode is because of Sky One's Simpson halloween marathon going on at the same time.

January 1998, according to http://groups.google.co.uk/group/alt.tv.simpsons/browse_thread/thread/cb00f5b029cd5893/e30d0abb9b09d763?lnk=st&q=Simpsons+Domino%27s&rnum=2&hl=en#e30d0abb9b09d763 . Sky have actually cut out a joke about Domino's Pizza in one of the episodes, presumably so they don't offend their sponsors.

Tonight's Simpsons on Sky One had David Silverman, animator on the show popping up over the end credits showing us how to draw Bart! Wonder if that was just a one-off? It wouldn't surprise me if they did it to stop Fox using generic credits which they get quite vocal about on some of the DVD commentaries!

It's been done a few times I think. I've always wondered why but you may have just answered the question.

Generic credits, how ITV. Laughing
