I was actually about to make a post on that. Knowing Channel4 they put a break at the worst and unusual time when it comes to The Simpsons. Yes, the sound disappeared, however when it went to black... fault caption?

No! A break!

You know funnily enough a few years ago (well probably about 1998 actually!!) when this exact episode was being broadcast on BBC Two, there was a sound arseup as well. Only this was in the scene where Bart and Tom were microliting over Springfield; the soundtrack dipped to an inaudible low and some form of stereo test (with holes in left, right, left, both) was broadcast for about 30 seconds. Which was nice.

Very apologetic CA over the credits.

It's weird because I seem to remember the episode where Homer got kidnapped in South America and the familiar Sky One announcer started talking over a part in the episode. I originally thought that she'd done it delibarately for legal reasons or something.

This episode was also broadcast on SKY at some point with just the sound effects for people with their boxes set to the 'narrative' sound track. It was weird hearing the sound effects and music in isolation without the voices over the top.

What I find funny about that scene is that it clearly isn't the real Ren & Stimpy. Ren's voice doesn't sound that bad, but Stimpy's voice doesn't sound much like the real Stimpy at all.
