Why are the repeats from 1999 - 2002 of the Simpsons on Sky One so unclear and deteriorated? It's as if they recorded them onto an analogue medium and played them out that way, they look so bad compared to the DVDs.

Superb! Far better than their Channel 4 effort.

Considering it's vastly increased length, there's no wonder.

Nice to see it maintains the brand, unlike the Ch4 version.

Considering Sky One's sugar daddy also owns Fox, it makes sense that Sky are treated to a slightly more elaborate ident.

Incidentally I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with C4's effort.

I'll just add this to the public record here. The episode of The Simpsons shown on Channel 4 today 'Fraudcast News' had a line removed that had been included in previous Channel 4 showings of the same episode.

At the end, Willy publishes his own newspaper and says "I reviewed the new tractors" and then follows it up by saying "They were all sh*te". Sadly this last line has now been removed from both the episode and the subtitles.

It can be heard here...
