Nope, they're still on Season 15, with 16 due any time in the next few years
while Sky are up to Season 20.

Are the terrestrial rights still about five years behind Sky's, or are C4 beginning to catch up?

Since that page hasn't been updated in 4 months - Channel 4 has shown season 16 (twice - the second time immediately after the first...) and Season 21 has made its debut on Sky. And yes that is still the same difference, but worth pointing out

Just to point out, these new episodes are repeated on Sundays, where they only have one break. These repeats were initially at 5.30, which was ridiculous. They're now at the slightly more convenient time of seven o'clock.
Sky One are showing new episodes of The Simpsons on Thursdays now. The latest two episodes had two breaks within the half hour programme.

Where do the ads go during the repeat? At one of the same points as the original showing or in a completely different place?

It's only very recently since Sky One have repeated new episodes of The Simpsons in the same week - usually it would be a month or so before their next airing.
Do they only show them twice a week then. Most digital channels would repeat something like that 3 or 4 times over a week.

I dunno, because I've never watched the same episode on both Thursday and Sunday. There's never previously been much point with Sky One repeating The Simpsons in the same week (although they used to have a Friday repeat when they premiered on Sundays) because of course they showed so many that they'd always turn up within a month or so anyway. But now Stuart Murphy has announced they'll be showing rather fewer Simpsons repeats so the new ones stand out - and certainly they seem to be moving to a more familiar schedule. Previously you'd get new episodes turning up on an ad hoc basis throughout the year, but this year was the first I can remember where there was a proper summer break - there weren't any new episodes from about April to October - and then since then new shows every week.
If anything Channel Four are further behind Sky than they used to be, they've taken huge gaps between new series and they've been flung out on weekdays at six and, for a period, Sunday afternoons with no publicity whatsoever. This has been a disastrous purchase for Channel Four, they've messed it up completely.

I'm sure that right from the start in 1990 up to a couple of years ago, the time for new episodes on Sky was
always
Sunday at 6:30. Recently I don't even know when they're on, there was one at 7pm the other week and I'm sure there's been ones as late as 8 recently too. As for Channel 4, god knows.
I don't think the ratings on Sky have been the same since it disappeared from cable for a year and a half, the Ricky Gervais episode got over 2 million back in 2006 but they're not even getting half that now.

On Sky One or Channel 4? Channel 4 already have a The Simpsons ident but it isn't very good. Sky One recently introduced an 'Angela and Friends' ident so maybe programme specific idents are a new trend for them.
I heard there was meant to be a new simpsons ident and that it was unveiled at some convention, does any one know when its going to air?
