The Simpsons - new title sequence

Although the episode was crap (like the whole show has been for about 9 years now), it made the transition to 16:9 very well, even in SD mode it looked neat and tidy, probably more like the Movie without any of the 3D bits. As for the Gracie Films sting, it's the version they've used from the Movie.

Even the 20th Century Fox Television logo looks better on 16:9.

I wonder if any of the MacFarlane series will be going HD anytime soon? Simpsons is now HD, as are the Futurama films/mini series.

I seem to remember in an interview MacFarlane saying that he didn't like 16:9 because he thinks comedy is a rather cosy format, and 16:9 is too epic. 4:3 in his view suits comedy better. Don't get what he means frankly.
