Let's be honest: they're effectively the existing titles but with some extra bits inserted. PMSL at the extended couch gag though, and it's nice to see they're actually bothering with making a long title sequence this time while other American shows now have title sequences lasting no longer than ten seconds.

Lets be honest:

there have been using the long one much much more since season 9,
and before that there were very very short,

point being If there did this because there can;t think of anything else to fill up the time slot Rolling Eyes

I've seen some of the modern ones, I'll be honest, it isn't as good as some of the earlier series but for me at least I got fed up with the same 5-6 series constantly repeated on BBC2 that anything new to me is good. Very Happy

You really should think about getting that catheter you were thinking about.

Copying my post from DS - lazy? A bit...

It's slightly weird that they've changed the titles after all these years. Never thought I would see it. I like them though - I don't think they could have got away with completely revamping them anyway. Or doing a Lost-style logo form-up.

Very geeky point - I wonder if they'll change the famous Gracie Films bit at the end. It's well overdue an update.

Well i think upscaling the original sequence to 720p would look awful, especially as it's as old as it is.

The Grace Films logo was redone for the movie.

I like it, but.... too long... they should have it for the first few HD episodes, but after that, maybe think about chopping it when they get to the house scene, as it makes it too long after that!

I think this is the long version, for when they don't have enough material to fill the timeslot. It basically replaces the previous one where they start doing the leg kicking, dancing, with elephants etc etc...

...or it may just be to show it off.

Hmm, I wonder if it's a deliberate mistake at the end where the TV is revealed to be hooked up to composite cables? Smile

I thought that they were only doing a one-off HD episode and then returning to SD

I love the blackboard gag, even though it doesn't really work over here with widescreen being common and no 'hd real estate' being utilised

It seems to have the same feel as the movie now
