Simon Thomas quits Blue Peter

They won't go back to the three presenter format. At that point they only had two programmes a week, now they have 5 programmes, they will get a new presenter to replace Simon, who knows maybe two due to the amount of programmes that they're going to have to do and then do seperate lives for the CBBC Channel and One, instead of repeating them.

Simon has been a great asset to the programme and the current team have worked so well together over the past 5 years since Katy left and Liz joined in 2000. They've turned the show around and talk more to each other and to the children rather than reading autocue and patronising the children.

It will be interesting to see where he will go to next, hopefully it won't just be to another CBBC programme.

I think Simon might go on to do a bit of religion-themed television as I heard that he's quite a committed Christian... perhaps the Beeb will line him up as a 'trendy' religious type...

You never know he could be following the footsteps of Diane Louise Jordan, AFAIK she's still doing okay with Songs of Praise and other BBC Religion programmes, considering she left many years ago.

Yeah he is, he was at trafford park a good few years back with Diane talking about their faith, would be good to see him do something else for the beep, does anyone know if Liz is coming back or has she gone for good?

Saturday Superstore, Going Live, Ghost Watch..... nuff said?

I grew up with Philip and Sarah on a Saturday morning! THAT was kids TV!

She isn't going anywhere. The original plan was for her to go onto maternity leave with Zoe replacing her for a few months, but the baby seemed to come along a week or so after she finished on the show and so she will now keep popping back to do the odd show now and then, for example she did today's show with Simon & Matt, and will keep appearing every few show rather than have months off.

It's not only giving Liz a break from doing all of the shows but also not dropping Zoe into the deep end when she's just started.

They'll most probably do it so that Liz won't do many, if any recorded films and just appear on the live shows.

To judge by one website I regularly frequent, I'd say Simon has a large gay following
