I read this forum on and off for many years, and remember fondly the endless bickering between Simon and the rest of the user base, especially in the early days. I was shocked into silence when I checked TV Ark this afternoon for the first time in months and saw that he had passed away. I could never help but feel a strange empathy with him, no matter how objectionably he put his views across. His untimely death troubles me and I'll likely be reminded of it whenever I dabble into TV presentation again in the future.

Rest in peace, Simon, you weren't alone and you won't be forgotten.

been reading his grange hill site and it's excellent, especially the locations, he must have spent ages sourcing where the scenes were shot and going out to retake the comparative view today, pity he never got it finished once GH moved to Liverpool. maybe the site organisers will bring it all up to date for him

Very sad news - his websites were the first I came to when I got the net back in 2001 as we shared the same admiration for BBC and Schools presentation.

Great loss.

A genius with his knowledge and dedication of BBC presentation, Simon showed passion and conviction with his honest and often controversial viewpoints. He sent me private messges from time to time and his annual Christmas mock idents were inspiring in this age of unimaginative presentation. What else can be said of this person who in some way or another has impacted all our lives on this forum and especially the excellent TV Ark. God bless you Simon.
