Ever since Louise Berridge has taken over, what used to be the number one soap, EastEnders, it has gone down the slippery slope. After such a strong reign by John Yorke we have been subjected to awful episodes and storylines on EastEnders.

She has also axed characters because they “have run their course” I can think up of many storylines for, the recently axed, Brooke Kinsella AKA Kelly Taylor, along with a long list of other characters including; Sid Owen (Ricky), Elanie Lordon (Lynne), Todd Carty (Mark Fowler) etc.

Louise Berridge has bought shame on EastEnders as it has been snubbed from this year’s BAFTA’s, this is disgraceful as EastEnders is supposed to be the BBC’s flagship show, and now it has been snubbed from an important award. It’s not only the BAFTA’s that have diteched EastEnders it has also been ditched by over 4 million viewers, maybe more, EastEnders got an average of 16 million before Berridge arrived and now over 4 million people have switched off
their television sets due to the un watch able trash transmitted.

It’s time for Louise Berride to move over and get a new executive producer who know what they’re doing, and who will once again reclaim EastEnders’ crown .

You can't just wander around here pointing fingers. Yes Eastenders is not as good as it once was but that doesn't mean it's just her fault!

Oh and your petition link doesn't work anyway.
EDIT : Oh it does now

One thing though, I've heard a rumour that Phil Redmond has been asked to take over EE. I'm not sure this could be a good thing. He's probabally bring in sensationalist storylines and the dreaded F word- filmic.

Is there a danger of all the character suddenly developing Scouse accents?

He'd probably move filming to Liverpool, hire Northern actors (who would upstage the inherited cast) yet still expect us to believe it was the same Albert Square...hang on, hasn't he done this before to a series made at Elstree? Twisted Evil

Call me whatever you like, but I can't help but hold in contempt these petitions, especially where they're spelt 'pettion'. And I'm sure the BBC will be equally unreceptive when they see the number of spelling disasters that have occurred on the petition itself - "Louise Berride" and "EasteEnders veiwers", for example.

It always amuses me how far people will go to fight for such utterly insignificant causes, yet ignore those issues that genuinely matter in the world.

I totally agree with you, Mr Ldn.

For any petition to be taken seriously it has to be correctly constructed gremmmotically; and also needs correct spooling.

Why, oh why, do I get the feeling Louise won't exactly be quaking in her shoes at this feeble attempt?

Is somone trying to tell me Eastenders was watchable enjoyable telivison programming from the BBC and the reason its now just crap is because of a new producer ?

I'd gladly put my signature to any petition calling for the permanent removal of Eastenders full stop.
