I agree with freddy.
All Popstars type shows are a stupid waste of time, because the band or singer they end up creating will most likely have a career that lasts for less time than the run of the programme/process lasted. So what's the point?
And anything with "celebrity" in the title, only ever has z-list people. So, it doesn't really do what it says on the tin.

Neither you or Freddy will be network controller anytime soon.
The point since you ask is ratings . Its neither here nor there if the winners of these shows have any success afterwards. You may not like that type of show, but the contollers do because they get big audiences.

wwtbam - when that ends it should never be brought back again, its boring. Also Crossroads shouldnt be brought back again ever.

Having said that, the Popstars type shows do sort of produce something with a bit of logevity - the runners-up!
So, whereas the band/singer they set out to create will probably flop quickly, the runners-up tend to do well. Compare Hear'Say (flash in the pan) to Liberty X (still here). Or Will Young (how long ago was his most recent single?) to Gareth gates (sadly, still here - sorry but I don't care much for Mr gates, no offence).

as much as i like crossroads, whether on not a mental kid in wales likes/liked it should not and does not matter in the slightest. turning every thread into a crossroads bore-a-thon will only serve to make people file you in the same drawer as jeremy.
