Another on I recall from Channel 4, in 1990 I think, was "Shoot the video". Hosted by Chris Searle, of Windmill fame, each of the four episodes showed you how to shoot stuff on a video camera, and how to edit it as well. It gave useful hints and tips, and dos and don'ts when it came to using a video camera.

Each programme ran for an hour, and was shown on a Sunday afternoon. As mentioned, it was four episodes long.

Not many seem to to recall this - a six-part Mersey TV series from 1986 (repeated 1987) about a group of unemployed young people, and their frustrations with the benefits system and jobseeking. Victor McGuire, who went on to star in Bread and Goodnight Sweetheart, had a main role.

The series featured music by Liverpool band The Touch, featuring guitarist Steve Wright, notable for co-writing the Brookside and Hollyoaks themes, and lead singer Connie Lush, now a successful blues singer.

There’s another Phil Redmond drama called Going Out.. can’t remember much about it, or even the channel, although the date on IMDb suggests it was pre Channel 4.

Remember the theme to "What Now?" vividly but very little about the programme itself

Please is anyone able to help with an extremely vague programme memory that I have?

Literally the only thing I can remember about this programme is characters referring to one of the drinks dispensed by the workplace vending machine as being "a coffee-flavoured soft drink".

Details that I think may also be applicable (or may be wildly wrong)...

BBC Two? Early 1990s? Set in either a police station or a hospital? Possibly a sitcom or comedy-drama, but with no studio audience laughter (canned or otherwise).

Thanks in advance.

Lazarus and Dingwall?
Starred Mark Arden and Stephen Frost.

BBC Two, very early 90's.
Spoof cop comedy all on film, no audience. Very funny. Sight gags and puns galore. One series. Never repeated.

I remember the one where one of them had to direct Bananrama’s video for Trick of the Night.

Didn’t they make a similar show with Pauline Quirke and Linda Robson called Jobs For The Girls?

Yep and Hale and Pace did a series called Jobs for the Boys.

I can't remember which sketch show it was, probably Smith and Jones, that did a spoof of In at the Deep End where the presenter had to perform open heart surgery.

A bit spooky this as earlier I was watching a bit of continuity (searching for 720p50 uploads of TV continuity) which included a trail for this show, I'd never heard of it before now!

Hale and Pace's whole time at the BBC is mostly forgotten now, such was it's success.

They didn't have much luck around then with comedy transfers from ITV. Bobby Davro also ended his TV career with a couple of flop series on the BBC. Its only the episode that almost killed or paralysed him that is keeping it in the public conscience
