Ah, fond memories, Melissa Joan Hart was one of my first TV crushes. Embarassed
Lottie Long-Legs, paul_hadley and DJ Dave gave kudos

Corners. An educational programme on CBBC from the late 1980s where viewers could send in questions.

There is an episode on YouTube but very few other mentions of the programme online.

Style Challenge. In my head this ran and ran, and was a staple of weekday mornings. But at that age a couple of months was a long time so who knows?

I recall John Leslie hosting it. Like Can't Cook, Won't Cook, it ran for a couple of years in the late 1990's. It certainly got a repeat run on what was UK Living, then UK Style.

Style Challenge and Can't Cook Won't Cook were some of the last network programmes made at Pebble Mill Studio A (Doctors later used the studio floor as a four-Waller but by then there were no gallery facilities).

We haven't really touched upon DIY shows, there were the favourites like Ground Force, Changing Rooms and Real Rooms but there were also those which aired on some of the satellite and cable channels.

Firstly, Doing it Up. It featured a couple doing up a house and a DIY expert called David Booth (he left and was replaced in a later series). That aired on Discovery Home and Leisure in the early 00s.

Secondly, a DIY makeover series presented by Yvette Fieling, which also starred the same DIY expert as Doing it Up, can't for the life of me remember what the show was called though. That also aired on Discovery Home and Leisure.

Another couple of shows, Renovation Street with Linda Robson, Challenge Tommy Walsh and not DIY related but a great series all the same - Two's Country (hosted by the late great Tim Grundy). Notice the apostrophe on the titles being the wrong way up.

He always reminded me a bit of Alan Titchmarsh.

Better Homes as well, presented by Carol Vorderman on ITV. Billed as a big budget version of Changing Rooms, they spent a fortune on things and even randomly gave the families a holiday every now and then for no apparent reason.

Think there was a competition element to it as well, where the people that owned the house that went up in value by the highest amount won something else. As if having your home increase in value isn't a big enough prize as it is. Must've been 2 houses per episode if I'm remembering correctly.

A lot of Channel 4's early light entertainment output probably isn't remembered very well, such as The Cut Price Comedy Show (a TSW production, I believe), Whatever You Want, the slightly disturbing Mini Pops, and Dream Stuffing (with a catchy theme sung by Kirsty MacColl).

Didn't that have a big mirror at the end that would spin around and show what they looked like after the makeover?

DIY Shows I remember House Invaders with Linda Barker.

Trak Trix. An early C4 programme about kids doing competitive outdoor pursuits.

There was another programme which involved racing powered vehicles called Run The Gauntlet that was on in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Yes that's right. I'm sure there's an outtake involving that but I can't for the life of me remember what happened.

One shown only in STVland, on New years day, for many years, until a good few years ago, "The Falkirk Childrens Panto", where children in a theatre group would perform a panto. Anyone know when STV stopped showing it?
