Activ8 on CBBC. Titles at the end of this clip

Bloody loved that theme tune. INTERESTING ACTIV8-RELATED FACT: It was made by three different BBC departments during its run, because it was one of the last kids shows made by BBC Manchester before their kids department closed down in the early nineties, when it was inherited by the kids department in London, and then a year or two later, when they decided that 25% of CBBC would now be made by BBC Scotland, it was one of the existing shows they shipped off there to ensure that.

Movies, Games and Videos which followed the Chart Show on ITV (in Central region at least)

Well, this started under the name of Movies, Movies, Movies, and the first I remember seeing in Granadaland was a one-off circa 1992. Then it became a full series, as you say usually on Saturday lunchtimes, and at some point it changed to that awful clunky name when it broadened its remit. But although it was shown in most regions, it was never fully networked, I don't think, and it carried on for years but most regions stopped showing it, and I seem to remember from the variations panel in the Radio Times that only HTV were still showing it by the end.

There was also a Movies Games and Videos magazine for a bit, in that period where every show involving video games had a magazine - a la GamesMaster, Bad Influence, Games World. Like the show itself was very much the low-rent end of games-related telly, so too was the magazine was published by Europress who were very much the low-rent end of games magazines. I can't remember how long it lasted, not very long.

Originally called Movies Movies Movies, wasn't it? Seemed to be quite a cheap show to put together, mainly just lots of clips and interviews presumably from the films' press kits, but it wasn't a bad Saturday lunchtime watch at the time.

I think I remember MGV being dumped from the Saturday lunchtime slot by Central at some point but it still went out in the middle of the night.

Did any of the local companies re edit the programme with local CA? I remember STV still showing it but Im sure there dropped it aswell by the late 90s. I think it was moved to late saturdays afternoons.

By Jan 98 only STV, Grampian, HTV, UTV and WestCountry it seems had it on the Saturday lunchtimes. it seems in the summer 98 "Trouble" picked up the series. During 2000 Central Tried again but went Meh, the last companies to have it in 2001 where the ones that kept it in 1998.

From the makers of Knightmare - Virtually Impossible, from CITV 1994:

Knightmare by this point had been running for eight years and had just finished what ended up being its final series. Virtually Impossible had been tooted as its replacement. Unlike Knightmare, it vanished after one series and was never seen or mentioned again.

Was 'The Morning Show' like the original one The One Show a BBC Birmingham* production too?

*BBC English Regions actually.

Wasn't this the programme that used the same set as Liquid News? Unless I'm mixing it up with something else, that means it must have been a London production.

I also remember Movies, Games and Videos. Well, remember the name of the show, but not the programme per se. I can vaguely remember the opening titles, as if it had been done on a blackboard. STV certainly showed it for quite some time.

For music on ITV, The Chart Show was a bit better, though it seemed to lack the personality of TOTP. The Chart Show seems to be a bit forgotten as well. I remember it, not that I watched it much, but for once seeing that Pepe Jeans sponsored it, and as a 15 year old, nagging my parents to buy me a pair. They did, eventually.

And on Channel 5, The Pepsi Chart!

I watched The Pepsi Chart if it happened to be on. I think it was dumped as part of the channel attempting to go upmarket with the 'five' rebrand.

More forgotten kids TV from the 90's and 00's

Mad for It - CITV magazine show hosted by Mike McClean and Yiolanda Koppel. Koppel left after the first series and was replaced by Nigel Mitchell and Danielle Nicholls. Ran between 1998-2000.

Dig and Dug (With Daisy) - Stop motion series about two hopeless builders. Which I think ran on either Channel 4 or 5.

Against All Odds - Children's version of 999 which aired on CBBC

Cats Eyes - Not the 80's TV series with Leslie Ash. A BBC educational show from the 90's with Roland Rivron and some puppet cats.

Spook Squad - Terrible CBBC gameshow from 2004. Which was similar to Terror Towers but was filmed in a real Scottish castle. Lasted a single series.

Polka Dot Shorts - 90's Canadian series that aired on CBBC and Tiny Living. "A pair of polka dot shorts!
How did they get there?"

Ahh Mad For It! Brings back some memories, wasn't it billed as like a 'get ready for the weekend' type of show?

El Nombre , originally part of Numbertime but later a show of its own on CBBC One and later CBeebies.
