There are many sitcoms that were incredibly popular at the time but forgotten about now. Middle of the road stuff like The Upper Hand (which I loved), Watching, Agony, Second Thoughts, Holding The Baby all had huge ratings.

Also remember Game On? That was huge at the time.

Does anyone remember a BBC Scotland kids show called G Force? It was a comedy drama set in a PR office. I think it started off as a slot on Fully Booked but later got its own series.

Here’s a drama pilot that coincidentally came at the time of the 2008 BBC THREE ident set launch - Phoo Action. One of six drama pilots that aired in early 2008 - it was meant to be expanded into a full series; the BBC cancelled it in the end.

Loved Game On, and yeah My Family should have stopped when Nick left for erm Doctor Who? Very Happy

Does anyone remember Playdays with the "Dot Stop"? there was a song she always use to sing at the end before she got the bus but all the clips on youtube don't have the song on it, it went something like "Don't be late Dot, the bus it can't wait Dot".

Created by Jamie Hewlett of Gorillaz and Tank Girl fame.

There was a bit of controversy at the time when it emerged that the decision had already been made that Phoo Action would be the only one to get picked up for a full series before the pilots had even aired. It wasn't very well received at all and another of the pilots - Being Human - was. Despite that, it took quite some time before production was cancelled and Toby Whithouse was told that Being Human would go ahead after all (and of course it went on to be one of the channel's success stories).

I used to watch FTN at stupid o'clock in the morning in the mid 2000's and some of the shows they aired from Flextech's back catalogue have become quite obscure.

My fondest memories are of Sin Cities, where a presenter called Ashley Hames visited various countries and explored the "nightlife" if you get what I mean. But the show had somewhat a humorous tone. He wrote a tie in book about the series when it ended which is quite an interesting read.

I also remember Booze Britain. Which was literally a show which consisted of a camera crew following around a group of mates who go on a night out and get completely trollied. That was pretty much the gist of the half hour show.

And then of course there were the endless repeats of Defectors, Stake Out and TV Scrabble at 4am in the morning.

Indeed I remember this exact episode of FoT. Mainly because Matthew Corbett and Sooty made an appearance whilst Sooty & Co. was going strong on the 'other side'.

Another children's show I remember is 'Bright Sparks' hosted by Diane Louise-Jordan and Toby Anstis. The show notably had the first appearance of Billie Piper and one of the first appearances of Charlotte Church. However there seems to be no trace of this show on Youtube at all.

Was that around the same time they were airing a Question of Pop? Didn't Noddy Holder and later Jamie Theakston host that?

Jamie Theakston hosted it, Noddy Holder was one of the captains (Suggs was the other one).

Talking about Jamie Theakston: The O-Zone 89-00? or The Priory?

Didn't he go on to be the dad in the BT adverts? Then the first series of Death In Paradise. Then he vanished.

Out of what I had watched on Ftn - Street Crime UK stood out pretty much - an unflinching look at crime at its finest. The highlight of said show for me, was the angry reactions made by the offenders.

It nowadays, sporadically airs on Pick; albeit only series 4.

Here's another obscure show from BBC THREE - Monkey Dust. Extremely dark for an animated comedy, and came when the BBC finally morphed Choice into THREE. It ran for three series; only ending when one of the creators died of lung cancer.
