^^ A few 90s Cosgrave Hall productions tend to not be greatly remembered, even though I recall them to be quite decent; such as Victor & Hugo, Avenger Penguins and Fantom Cat. Virtually no one remembers Tellybugs, a TVS cartoon from the 80s and if it wasn't for my mum also remembering it, pre-internet, I'd have been convinced I'd dreamt it up. The Dreamstone is another from the 90s, which I mostly remember due to its churchy/choir theme song. Oh yeah and Captain Zed and the Zee Zone. It seems quite a lot of people only watched CBBC, growing up.

As for quiz shows, Keynotes was one I recall from the early 90s when I was off school that no one ever mentions...

Turnabout is another slightly less obscure one...

Eliminator - Early 2000's CITV game show which was very similar to The Chase. Groups of kids had to answer questions correctly to move across a giant game board and avoid being caught by Eliminator (some guy dressed up in a scary costume).

Michael Underwood hosted this IIRC? Didn't it have "levels" as you went? I'm sure it did.

Get Wet - 90's CITV gameshow presented by Simeon Courtie. Games all revolved around water.

From STV I think, apparently repeated at some point years later and was on their YouTube channel.

Pump it Up - Yet another forgotten CITV game show. Presented by Andy Collins and Julia Bradbury. Julia left after the first series and was replaced by Fearne Cotton. Games featured inflatables and gunge. The finale of every show was the "Gunge-a-Thon". An assault course the teams had to get across to win the show.

Half-arsed attempt to replicate Run The Risk I thought, only without much of anything that made RTR appealing. Remember spotting one episode where a kid took a fancy to a girl on another team and she became his girlfriend. Done rather maturely than all that "wooooooooo" crap you find on American teen sitcoms.

Yes it did. I thought it was one of CITV's better efforts in the early 2000's.

Yes STV produced it. Same production team who made Fun House I think. STV repeated them a few years ago.

I never saw Run The Risk first hand but looking at clips online. I have to agree. Also featured a race around the studio on electric scooters. So a bit of borrowing from Fun House there too. I enjoyed it at the time though.

Although STV took most of their shows off YouTube a while back, the whole of Get Wet seems to be available on STV Player on a long-term basis along with quite a few other STV children's shows (remember The Hurricanes for example).

Speaking of racing round the studios on scooters, Nigel Mitchell did a show for CITV in 2001 called Twister. Made by STV, it was supposedly Fun House in different packaging. Only without the house. And without the appeal of Fun House. And without the ten year run under its belt either. It lasted just 13 episodes, but was stuck in the "stripped and stranded" CITV era, without which it may have lasted another series.

Episodes were chockablock on YouTube, even on STV's own YouTube channel. Now they've all disappeared.

STV were responsible for quite a few CITV cartoons in the 90s, many of which felt like American. There's The Hot Rod Dogs And The Cool Car Cats which was one of them, all the voice actors were well known (as well knows as you can get with cartoon VAs anyway) ones from American cartoons (like Jim Cummings, Rob Paulsen and Frank Welker who are all incredibly prominent- you'll know their voices even if you don't know the names). I guess they felt these shows might sell abroad easier if they felt American rather than British. I don't think any of them even got shown in the US though!

Twister was awful. It was literally a carbon copy of Fun House. Gunge filled games to begin, a race around the studio and then a finale in a play area. The only difference was the theme of the show was to do with weather. It makes you wonder why they didn't just do another series of Fun House. Twister was exactly the same.

I also remember another terrible CITV gameshow from around the same time called Pet Swap. Where kids dressed up as their pets and played various inflatable games. Lasted about 5 minutes before being axed.

Never did find out why Fun House ended as it was very successful and as I say ran for 10 years. Presumably it ended because of the change of controller of the service, which is sadly often the case for a lot of channels, not just individual strands.

Petswap was apparently paired with Twister, so they got a bargain of two crap shows for one. Brilliant!

This beauty is often mentioned on TV Forum many times but rarely elsewhere:

Everybody remembers Andrew Norriss's other work, namely Brittas Empire, Bernard's Watch and the book that inspired the TV show Woof, but not Aqvila. Despite the fact he wrote the book that the TV series was based on.

I might be wrong, but I don't think any of those were even shown on CITV, the only one I can ever remember actually being shown in in the UK (outside of Scotland) was Flying Rhino Junior High- and that was on Cartoon Network!

I used to love that show! The second series ended with a hook for a third series (involving a spaceship), which sadly never got made. CBBC did repeat it back in 2001 though! I don't think it even got an airing on the CBBC channel, even in the first few years when they repeated a fair bit of 80s/90s stuff.
