Close to Home, only remembered now for the out-take as seen on Alright on the Night with a pig and an overactive bladder. Think it was an adaptation of a US format.
I remember a sitcom in a vets' practice on Sunday nights on ITV with Paul Nicholas. I loved it but it never got past a second series IIRC.

Yeah, Close to Home was pretty much a transplant of the American show of the same name, even down to the characters, the sets and the scripts were virtually identical too.
The same thing happened with The Upper Hand, which was itself a transplant of Who's The Boss - the scripts were the same (in the first series at least) but at least they had a different set and different characters.
There are probably other examples of US formats/shows that were nothing but totally transplanted when they came over here - Bruce's Price is Right was a complete carbon copy of the American show at that time even down to the games and the music.
