Now that abc 1 is to appear on freeview soon I was wondering what kind of shows they are planning to show.
I have heard that My Wife and Kids is a strong favourite but does anyone know any other shows that are likely to appear. Will they show a few from the Disney channel for example?
Abc1 (formely 'Daytime') is the new entertainment channel brought to you by Disney and launching on freeview soon.
It is likely there will be soaps on there (e:g: Bold and the Beautiful) but at the meeting on sunday they hinted that My Wife and Kids is a strong favourite so I was wondering what other prgrammes it may have and if there is any from the Disney Channel (e:g: 'Thats so Raven')
Also, they said that if it is popular it may launch 24hrs and I presume either take over ch15 or ideal world.
Most likely, any soaps ABC1 will carry will be the ABC-owned ones--All My Children, One Life to Live, and General Hospital. I can also imagine an edited version of the daytime talk show The View, emphasizing interviews with Hollywood celebrities already known in the UK. Then they'll pick series from current or recent ABC primetime schedules, choosing shows to which Disney owns foreign-sales rights and which might work in the UK daytime market. That means you're likely to see family sitcoms but not NYPD Blue.

Most likely all those programmes but in the other thread someone mentioned that the bosses hinted that they like My Wife And Kids are in there aswell. One more thing, why can't they show any shows from the Disney Channel like 'Thats So Raven' if abc1 ARE Disney then it should be easy shouldn't it?
I've selected no for the fact that it sounds like a load of trash. I don't think that American soaps will really be the best choice of viewing on Freeview and if 24 hours will go down the road of other digital 24 hour channels and have endless repeats of the same sohws again and again and again.
Therefore, it should run for example between the hours of 6pm - 6am or 4pm - 4am or something similar because then another 12 hour channel can launch next to it and be equally rubbish (if we're going to have rubbish being broadcast to us, we may as well have a choice about it).
American soaps andon-the-way-to-the-dustbin US Sitcoms with another channel of "Made for TV" Films (for example) - both equally bad, but at least it gives you a bit of choice.
However, ABC1 may turn out to be a fantastic channel... so I'm willing to change my opinion!
