Now getting back to Shortland St which is the topic of this thread why do you think it is crap then? Its a lot better than antiques and gardening which is what they would shove on if SS was'nt here.

Well Jez, where do I start, the storylines are weak the actors are just so damn annoying and couldn’t really act to save their lives. Are we the only country other than NZ who use the series? probably, and that says it all.

Well the show has actually been shown in quite a few countries - Fiji, Oz, Ireland to name a few.

When you have tried watching it was it on ITV1 Wales and if so was it before or after they skipped the 2 years? Just wondered cos a few people think the show has gone downhill since January.

The storylines are good and the show has covered alot of issues and may I add before they ever were covered on UK programmes.

Can't act you say that is why some of the cast got cast in Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and several have appeared in Xena/Hercules these are all big budget movies/tv shows.

The series is in English so is only shown in the English speaking countries. It is not shown in the states then neither is alot of our stuff.

I thought todays episode was quite good - the stuff with Judy and the nurses was good but the bits with Adam and Rachel were quite boring - its very hit and miss atm.

Todays episode was really good - sometimes Vicor reminds me of Dr Frank Malone? Does anyone else find this?

And LOL @ Samara's face at the end!

It's good. Some of the posts are hate posts! SO POINTLESS. Nonetheless! Shortland Street is 102 posts old now!

Just wanted to know. Does SS take a break in NZ like Neighbours?

Yes it takes 5 weeks off usually - last year the finale was on 13th December and it returned at the end of January!

I cannot wait for them to screen the 2001 finale - Its due towards the end of the year.

This is what happens in the 2001 finale - it may contain spoilers

Quote:
Jack drives Rachel up to the batch and ties her up, while Patricia gets a wedding invitation in the post to Jack and Rachel's wedding. Patricia realises what is happening and calls the police, the police go out to the batch but Jack assures them that Rachel is there of her free will. Jack dresses Rachel in a wedding dress and he wears a suit for there wedding, he asks Rachel to say she loves him, she says she can't and he says if she doesn't they will have to do it the harder way to make sure they are together for eternity.
Marshalls party begins but Marshall is right in the middle of making the drugs. Chris asks Nick why Rachel stood him up and they realise something has happened to her as she didn't come home. Chris receives an urgent call from Patricia telling him that Jack's kidnapped Rachel so Chris speeds up to he batch to try and save her.
At the party Te-hana is angry at Jo still about the boat so she goes to get some alcohol for them to drink to get some fresh air. Mihi is at the supermarket and decides she will go call a taxi to go to Marshall's party. She walks in the corridor and catches her mum and Geoff in a passionate kiss.
Nick tells Waverly he loves her and she says she loves him too however Marshall's drugs start burning and Marshall trys to put out the fire but the fumes are too much and he collapses. Barb and Toni find Marshall collapsed and she yells at Toni to run and get Adam and help, just as Toni starts running there is a big explosion and everyone in the house gets thrown around

Todays ep was good - the storyline with Matt, showing the difficulties of juggling a full time job and looking after a sick relative. The cliffhanger was good too, just a shame they didnt tell us at the end it was on air Tues-Thurs next week and not Monday due to Easter Monday.

Did you also notice the face Rachel pulled when Samara made those comments - I cant wait for the big catfight between those too - it will be better than the Angel/Kate catfight and the Alexis one in Dynasty. Samara is such a sly cow but I like her now - Chris is the one I cant stand.

Did you know that Samara came forth as the most evil person ever on the show over its 10 year history - and she hasnt even shown her true colours yet.

Loved todays episode, Marshall is one spoilt brat hope he gets whats coming to him. Matt and his dad was good where his dad is wondering around the mall, you had to watch it to understand but yes v. good today. I love Barb and ger attitude to Rachel and Samara's comments to Rachel today were good. Have to wait till tuesday now Sad

I know its a pain having to wait until Tuesday and I will be back in work by then too - sigh

Oh well at least we have FOUR episodes a week from now on (apart from Bank Holiday weeks)

And the Samara/Rachel fight - I saw a clip of it and it looks great - Rachel looks like she is winning until Chris pulls her off Samara. Cant wait for the ep! Its due around June/July on our screens I think so not long to wait

I have to say I disliked Samara when she arrived (same as Judy) but those too are some of the best cast atm just cos they are bitches! Rachel is being a bit of a bitch too - although I dont like Adam she did seem a bit harh on him - but its good that she win's against Samara in the end!

I also like Matt, Toni and Waverly - well how could anyone dislike Waverly
