The ident on Channel 4 used into Big Brother at 9:00pm (I don't watch that tripe, just wanted to see the ident) was Bowling. However, it was much shorter. It started at the mid point of the normal version, and the audio at the start had been tampered with slightly. Did anyone else notice this. Has it replaced the normal version or has a shorter version been made as an addition? I hope it hasn't been replaced because Bowling is my favourite ident of the lot.

The long one was on last night. Alien has a short and long version... perhaps it's the same with Bowling.

Yes, thinking about it now, I have the short version of the ident Alien on file. Like Joe said, I hope whole idents haven't been replaced by the short version -- I'd expect they still use the full-length ones alongside.

It seems like more than just BBC TWO have short versions of their idents then -- Channel Four evidently have them, and their Welsh counterpart (that I haven't seen get much coverage on pres sites) S4C, also have short versions of some of their idents, although it'll more than likely be only the newer ones (I swear some of their idents from the mid 90's are still being used!)

Aren't some of the Four idents (for example, Road Signs, arguably my fave) already fairly short -- less than 20 secs?
Then it would make sense that the long idents are chopped down a bit.

Rather than start another topic for something so trivial, I thought I'd better mention that on the new Comic Strip Presents DVD, they introduce each of the 9 disks with a different Channel 4 breakbumper.
