Quite a bit of comedy on ITV1 in the new year with 2DTV, Hardware, Harry Hill's TV Burp all returning. Also new sitcom "Shane" from Frank Skinner, the Dave Spikey comedy, a new show called Directors Commentary and "The All Star Comedy Show" the Vic Reeves / Bob Mortimer & Steve Cougan sketch show.

Hopefully we might see a new series of "The Sketch Show" as well.

Are most of the ones that you mentioned SquareEyes going to be in the autumn 2004?

No doubt that at some point next year we will see Baddiel & Skinner Unplanned. If only they returned it to its old live format! And the Frank Skinner Show will be back next autumn too. But for overall comedy it is starting to shape up. Especially with actual sitcoms coming. I wonder how many will be for family viewing, such as the all star sketch show and dave spikeys new show, or will they all be post 9pm. I doubt itv would try anything before then, even though they could do with cutting back on emmerdale.

I presume most of this will be to fill the 10pm slot, which isn't a bad thing. And will be my viewing replacement for V Graham Norton when he returns to his hour friday night show next year.

The show will be repeated on Thursday 18th Dec at 1:40am if you missed it the 1st time round. The public response has been staggering, there are so many budding writers out there. Winners will meet prolific writers in the industry and get loads of exposure on national TV.

Thankyou for your kind responses Smile

Talking about Baddiel and Skinner, according to Digital Spy, Fantasy Football is coming back to ITV for Euro 2004, as that was very funny when it was on BBC Two and ITV, great to see them talk about Football again as they're not allowed to on Unplanned.

I still have an episode on tape from the 1998 World Cup and the opening titles are very funny, they're a p*ss take on the World of Sport titles.
