bit of a cock-up on BBC one last night.
Regional (for me, Look North) continued untill 10.32 (due to finish at 10.30pm)

then headlines for a minute or two

then to a 3 minute weather in which, the woman was in the middle of describing a weather front cut to black

then to a messy ident into Labour broadcast 4 minutes late

then ident into lottery in which they had had to draw thunderball off-air to save time

There always seems to be problems with too many adverts and longer programs on BBC one - does anyone else notice this?

Ooh yeah - all those adverts on the BBC to sit through. Terrible isn't it? If only we could pay a licence fee or something instead to fund the Beeb.

Regional opt always starts at around 22.25 and is 6.30 in duration. The news is NOT meant to end at 22.30. The headlines after were 40 seconds.

The weather was 2.30, as it always is. The Queen's Speech Broadcast was billed as 22.35 so was not late.

The Lottery programme was not cut short.

There does not "always seem to be problems".

Other than that, you're spot on with everything.

Shouldn't have done, it should have been billed as a "followed by". If you look at the other timings for programmes they are 5 minutes later than would have been normal if it hadn't been in there. As it turned out, the QS Broadcast came in on the day of TX much shorter than 5 min, which is why there were more trails in. Otherwise the programme at 22.45 would have started too early.

It was billed as a 10:30 start, but the Lottery programme was billed as 10:35-10:45 which is 5 minutes more than normal.

No offence but what is 4 minutes out of your life to wait for a program?

I agree that there are too many adverts on BBC. Im sure there are less on ITV than BBC lately!

If a programme was running late or scheduled incorrectly on ITV i'm sure it wouldve been mentioned here that it was 4 minutes late but as its on BBC its now acceptable? Surprised

don't be silly owan, there are LOADS of posts slating the BBC trailer issue, not only there being too many but the same ones being repeated over and over again.

plus in this case it wasn't even late according to marksi, although clearly Mr Crocks knows best

Last night while "Question time was on around 11.05 the National weathrt appered then jump to a bbc one advert then jump to the opening credits of Question time when jump again ( a total of 2 minture) it seem to mist out 5mins of the programme,

in scotland it run 5 mins later to show a SNP broadcast. I think there did this so there could cacth up with the missing 5mins !

What, when practically half of ITV's programmes start at xx:x3 or xx:x4, especially the soaps.

I agree! Threads would have popped up left right and centre going "Oh, another nail in the coffin for ITV", "How will they ever improve if they can't time keep" but instead we get one thread and about 11 posts all because its the BBC Rolling Eyes
