Shock for Crossroads fans

Patrick is to die in Crossroads this Christmas. He is the first major character to be killed off in the comeback series since Jill Harvey.

This has come as a shock to me. Anyone agree?

I can only hope that this will lead to the whole thing being killed off.....

Next week on Crossroads (w/b 10th December)

Patrick tries to heal the rift between him and Kate this week by attempting to rekindle the romance between them, but Kate makes it clear she isn't interested. Seeing how hurt her father is, Nicola tells Patrick about the relationship between Kate and Billy. Patrick is absolutely furious, finds Billy, punches him and then sacks him. Patrick confronts Kate next, but is distraught when she tells him that their marriage is over. Everything gets on top of Patrick on Wednesday and he has a heart attack. Although paramedics do their best to save him, Patrick dies. An hysterical Nicola then finds Kate with Billy in his room. She tells them that Patrick is dead and accuses them of being his killers.

WB 03rd December
Jake and Tracey are back from their short break away. Mark drunkenly admits he wants a relationship with Sarah. Brian goes on the rampage at the hotel after a fight with Phil. Nicola accuses Kate of having an affair with Billy. Jake falls foul of Tracey's conniving tricks. There is a dramatic conclusion to the rooftop drama. Phil is horrified when Julie refuses to press charges against Brian.

WB 10th December
Patrick tries to rekindle his romance with Kate, but she snubs his efforts. Nicola is forced to tell Patrick what is going on between Kate and Billy. Phil is determined to have nothing to do with his mum. Jake puts Tracey's nose out of joint. Before confronting Kate, Patrick attacks and sacks Billy. Phil and Julie are reconciled by Rocky. Arthur and Doris plan another date. Patrick suffers another heart attack, and dies. Ray is furious when he sees the newspaper article about his role in the siege. Rocky offers Julie help and support, making Phil feel left out. Everyone at the hotel is in shock the next day at Patrick's death. Nicola is distraught when Billy tries to blame her for Patrick's heart attack. Ray storms off to spend Christmas in Manchester with Tom. Julie wants to spend Christmas with Phil and Rocky.

WB 17th December
Rocky has high hopes of romance with Julie, but his hopes are soon dashed. Kate and Nicola are continually at odds. Diane returns to Crossroads and is shocked to hear that Patrick is dead. Rocky asks Julie to move in with him. There's a fight at the KO Cafe when Dave's other half, Anita, has a bust-up with Oona. Tracey's drinking deepens the rift with Scott. Jake is jealous of Mark. Emotions boil over at Patrick's funeral. Julie tells Rocky she's returning to Newcastle.

Crossroads isnt the kind of soap you expect to see a death in! EastEnders is- the first scene in Episode One back in 1985 had a dead bloke in!

Crossroads have written so many characters out recently, it's almost suspicious...

Jill Harvey (not recent, but anyway) - Murdered
Louise 'Sarah-Jane' - Ran off
Virginia Raven - Went away
Tom - Went away
Patrick Russell - Died

Who next? Could this be a sign that Crossroads is going to end?

Probablly an attempt to try and increase its audience figures!

Mandy will be next. I hate her to hell and back.
