I felt the sets were noticeable too - especially the outdoor shots.
Still the best thing on the box, though as most years the first episode is never the best - mainly because they usually concentrate on Frank Gallagher. They should have done at least a couple of scenes with the Maguires too.
The second episode though - which was very much centred on the brilliant Maguires though was much better. Strange though it was also narrated by Frank Gallagher - I hope they've just made the mistake of him narrating two episodes back to back and not decided he should narrate each episode of the series. That would be a major mistake.

Anyway, I hope in time we'll get used to the new set as it really is very different. The pub is entirely different but wasn't that always a set anyway? Are we to believe it had a re-fit? lol

The new set is weird but I suppose we will grow to get used to it. Definitely questions continuity, including Lillians living room being over double the size it used to be, and her being on a ground floor flat when this wasn't the case when Frank was a window cleaner. However, I suppose it could be explained with her moving or something.
I really enjoyed the first one because I don't like the Maguires all that much, so needless to say I wasn't a big fan on the second one. I think it was good to see Shameless go back to its roots for series 1- revolving around the Gallaghers.

Well her "ground floor flat" had stairs going to the bedrooms!
I love the Maguires myself - I think they add alot to the show. Yes, series 1 and 2 were great but the show has moved on now and has suffered the loss of major characters far better than most dramas would.
