You can at least send them a unique showreel, with the videos you have on YouTube of yourself presenting not-for-broadcast editions of Countdown and being GoD - I reckon you'd be perfect, and you can prove you can do the job.

Thank you ever so much, Steve, but I know from the knowledge I've gleaned, and from something I was told only this week by a TV exec, that the chances of me getting the gig are the same as the chances of me featuring on the front page of the News Of The World on July 17th...

Went to watch Countdown tonight. Dudley the warmup guy was speaking about Jeff leaving and he seemed to suggest it isn't 100% he is leaving just yet. May just have been playing up to people, but it seems like both parties want to keep going, but Jeff doesn't want to leave Sky. They are recording lots over the summer to ensure Jeff finishes this series - they are also moving to recording 5 episodes per day to 6 to help Jeff when the season comes back.

Like I say, may not come to anything but reading between the lines I think C4 really want him to stay.
