Bloody brilliant! (January 2007)

Not mentioned it so far this year, but Shameless is brilliant at the moment.

Not many shows survive when half the supporting cast leaves, but the Maguires are more than filling the gap.

I had worried they might be a bit dark - but really they are providing most the humour this series - and Mimi and Shane especially are hilarious at times.

Also, it's been doing better in the ratings than ever so far as well, with over 4m watching when you combine the First Look and C4 ratings. Nowadays, that's comparable to alot of drama series on the BBC and ITV!

And though we're half way through this series, at least we know we've got an extended fifth series to look forward, tipped to double to 16 episodes!

umm, don't think it's a patch on the original couple of series myself

Agreed, I lost interest just before the end of the second series. I tried watching a bit of the third series, but couldn't get back into it again. The characters have changed far too much for me to keep track of who is who!

I lost interest too. It was good in the beginning but grew tired and cliched quickly.

In some ways I agree with you, but the series has moved on far better than the likes of Teachers ever did.

There haven't been the dramatic episodes we saw in the second series when Steve and Fiona left (I still think Steve's exit was the best bit of TV ever!) - but IMO this has probably been the funniest series and it does seem to be laying the ground work for future series.

As I said above the Maguires have been a much better addition than I expected. However, I do think Monica is the weak link - she was fine as an occassional character, but just doesn't cut it as a regular, especially in comparison to Sheila.

I dont think that this series is as good as the previous ones before it. i think many of the best characters have gone. e.g. monica, veronica, kev, ffiona and steve. and also the storie lines havnt been as strong as before. never the less i still think its one of the best series on the telly.

I've stopped watching. First three series were great but I really can't get into it this time round.

To be honest I haven't really cared about this series since it's been on, there's just far too many changes

From what my old man has told me (who hasn't watched this series) apparently a story line is coming up soon involves a story on beastality.

Basically one of the Macguires trains their Alsation dog to give him a bl*w job

Mad Definately lost its way
