Sex and the City

Now I just love the now late Sex and the City. I've got most of the video box sets of it, but haven't got the first, fifth and sixth series. I know that E4 repeats the series but so does Paramount Comedy.
Paramount had a 'Sex and the City Climax Weekend' last weekend showing the last episodes of the New York series, including the two-part Paris finale. I was wondering if anyone knew if Paramount were going to start showing Sex and the City right from beginning (season 1) to end (season 6) as in the last few months the episodes they have shown have been all over the place.

I suppose it depends on who holds the rights for those seasons. I'm not sure who does though. Perhaps Channel 4?

Paramount Comedy owns rights to the later series but not the first 3 as E4 have rights to those which is how E4 shows them at all.

How is it then that Paramount showed the first ever episode last night, if they only have rights to the latter series?

Could it be that they have the rights to the Pilot episode. As dosen't the American pilot episode of programs not count with the rest of the series?
