I call for a seperate news related forum because some of the TV posts are not getting as much attention as the news posts are.
Anybody agree?

Why do we need another one? Everyone can read what they wish to on this about Presentation matters. If people don't want to write about things related to News, then that's OK. The items don't disappear.

I don't agree

I was actually thinking about that a few days ago -- I think it's a good idea, but the problem is that I think in a lot of cases 'news' topics have a lot of tv presentation topics in it too

I vote to keep things as they are, because the topics about news are generally about presentation anyway. There are relatively few topics which are not related to presentation.

I doubt you'll see a news forum! Things are perfectly fine the way they are.

I still cannot see the facination with news presentation.

BBC News = boring set, boring titles, boring presenters

ITV News = crap set, crap titles, po-faced presenters

Channel 4 News = crap crap crap

Channel 5 News = never watch it, so I cannot comment

Sky News = dodgy set, titles, and presenters

There, thats just about covered the last 7 months of news disscussion here on the forum.

Lets talk about Sport presentation, as that changes almost weekly!!

Actually, while we're on the subject, has the BBC abandoned the idea of a set standard for sports graphics?

Whatever football match you're watching, the graphics could be any colour, any position possible. It's as though they depend on how the production team feels at the time!

That's your opinion and that's fair enough but it doesn't mean no-one else on the forum wants to talk about it!

They'll be no news forum at this time.

Cheers, Asa

OK - first rant!

Ray Stubbs is THE most annoying sports presenter ever! I don't know whether its his accent or what but I just dont like him.

As for Grandstand presentation, why do they insist on using those crappy CSO studios - the old Grandstand studio with a live view of the control room behind was great.

and my Saturday afternoons are not complete anymore, because at 5.30 in the evening, I like to listen to the famous Grandstand theme tune, and all those credits go up at the end. Now the people at the Beeb usually decide to have some rubbish 'pop' music at the end, complete with irrelevent action of a sports match (usually football).

and one final thing, I was watching BBC World the other day and noticed they had a sportreader who was the spitting image of Des Lynam! Smile

Des Lynam used to scare me, with his grey hair, grey moustache and BLACK eyebrows!!! Wink
