I know MTV Classic usually rebrands to MTV Christmas, but I don't ever remember VH1 rebranding to VH1 Christmas in the past (I only recall VH1 Classic rebranding to VH1 Christmas before it became MTV Classic).

VH1 did rebrand last year (the reason why the branding exists), I don’t think they did before that, they just played festive shows and music.

The reason why the branding exists is that VH1 Classic used to always rebrand to VH1 Christmas (before it was rebranded to MTV Classic), so it sounds like they've resurrected the brand, which is a bit unnecessary now that they've got MTV Christmas as well.

Sorry, I didn’t exactly make that clear, yes the VH1 Christmas brand existed before, but I meant that VH1 rebranding last year is the reason the current graphics used on MTV Rocks are in the old style, as they use the old layout and animations from before the main channel went fully entertainment.

Anyways, this has gotten a bit off track from the Scuzz conversation.

I don't understand why MTV Rocks and Chart Show Hits have rebranded to Christmas channels early? No other music channels have changed to Christmas branding yet.

VH1 Classic definitely wasn't rebranded as VH1 Christmas. It had an annual festive makeover with a special logo and idents, but always kept the VH1 Classic brand. (Normal VH1 was the same, festive branding but no rebrand).

VH1 Christmas is a new brand, used for the first time last year.

Here's an old trailer from VH1 Classic showing the Xmas logo and promoting Christmas specials on VH1.

The Vault has got a Christmas-themed DOG.

Apart from that, I can't see any other Christmas-related branding after a quick browse through the channels.

Christmas music on music channels used to start on 1st December, so that’s definitely one thing that’s gotten earlier!

Scuzz now has no programmes currently being broadcast on the channel even though the Sky EPG still displays the 'SCUZZ IS DEAD' programme.

UPDATE: It has now been removed from Sky EPG.

Soon they'll be catching up to the high street and playing Christmas songs in October!
