I never liked this show first came on air but it has really grown on me, some great visual humour & the banter between JD & Turk is well acted you almost believe that they have known each other for years in real life.
The fifth series went down a more emotional path but series 1-4 were excellent. Here's hoping that Series 6 has less emotion and more humour.
Have to say one of my favourite style of episodes is where it's seen from a different characters POV (His Story / Her Story)

It would be impossible just to choose 1 episode as they're all so great.
I love Ted's band and whenever they star they always seem to link the episode together really well.
BTW:
abc1 is now showing Season 1 11am-12pm- but at weekends only. Still only Season 2 weekdays 1.30/4.30pm.
E4 Season 4 at 6-7pm weekdays
Paramount Comedy1 Seasons 1/2/4 11am-12pm weekdays (IIRC)

Apparently Ted's band are actually a real band from wikipedia:
Ted is part of an a cappella group, with three other administrative workers from around the hospital, called The Worthless Peons (played by Lloyd's real life band The Blanks).

I have seen some episodes of Series 6, and it's way more balanced than Series 5. There is a "His Story" in Series 6, and it's a shocking topic.
