Ironic, however, that Charlie chose to use Rentaghost as an example of the credits being part of the viewing experience. It was repeats of Rentaghost in 1991, as part of The 8:15 From Manchester, which incurred the first (known) credit squeeze on the BBC.
Yes and people complained about them doing this, so they stopped it after a few weeks.
I watched Screenwipe for the first time last night. Thought it was brilliant.
I also wondered who Mykola Payluk was. His name always appeared on programmes made by Hat-Trick.

Only once as I recall, and they switched back to the credits after reading out the complainant's letter. Afterwards it was back to squeezes.
The squeezes continued with Grandad, shown once the 8:15 ran out of Rentaghost episodes. One week, The 8:15 was displaced by sport (?) but a loose episode of Grandad was scheduled for the breakfast slot. At the time the normal BBC1 annos introduced CBBC's breakfast programmes with a CBBC logo instead of the globe. So I was looking forward to seeing Grandad with full-screen credits but what happened? The Russian coup led to the cancellation of the breakfast CBBC slot...
I laughed out loud on two occasions. The second was when he pointed out if you were quick enough at changing channels you could see the same van drive past Jane Hill then Kay Burley, and I'm sure I'm not the only one on this forum who's seen similar examples of this kind of thing!

Repeated at 02.30 for those like me who forgot it was Tuesday!
Another fine show. I see he's picked up on the intrusive reporting of the McCann's every move.
And the Northern Rock crisis...

Shouldn't Newswatch be something more like this? Obviously it's a satirical show with a limited audience (hence why it's hidden over on BBC Four), with the addressed issues ignored by all who could implement change.
But it's hillarious nonetheless. The highlight last week was the road safety campaign. Why didn't she just run from the car at 10mph?
