Possible explanation rests in the 'separate' ITV Breakfast Franchise. Childrens programming requirement. Opportunity to use content on CITV too, later in the week.
Really hope they don't sell this to any established presenters though, It's longevity has to be questioned.

I hear Adrian Chiles is lined up.
EDIT: The reply may seem flippant, but I'm not sure what you're getting at. The presenters will probably be someone who does the rounds on kids TV along the lines of Sam and Mark or someone most of us haven't heard of from a channel we don't watch. Even someone like Stephen Mulhern or Ferne Cotton would be very unlikely.
What kind of presenter were you thinking of?

What kind of presenter, frankly any of the established talent on CBBC would be advised to avoid, such as the continuity Pres, Sam and Mark or the Friday Download crew.
Why would they be advised to avoid? A gigs a gig at the end of the day and it's not as if in this day and age CBBC wouldn't allow them to work on a CITV show unless they clashed with their BBC duties. Glad you didn't send the same advice out to Ant & Dec before they took the SM:TV gig.
It's not as if this is such a big deal, if it fails the presenters will get new jobs. It wont be like being associated with the original Daybreak.
Anyway I suspect they'll probably go for YouTubers who look like One Direction members for the male contingent at least.
Although I suspect this is more of a show linking programmes than anything more substantial surely ITV can't be making that much money from their cheap Saturday morning line up that they couldn't at least give it a shot at 9.25am.
I know this comment was referring to the show's very existence, but it also explains why it's on so early.

What a bizarre view - Ant & Dec, Holly Willoughby, Tess Daly, Cat Deeley, Steven Mulhern, Fearne Cotton and I'm sure plenty more owe a lot to their Saturday morning ITV programmes - and not all of them were terribly successful formats.
Why should a presenter who regularly attracts 250-350K viewers WANT to move to a slot which currently attracts 110K at best? hence my avoid comment.
Lots of reasons, the format my show off their talents better. They may regard this as a better bridge to adult TV jobs. A gigs a gig and there aren't many going, and it's not as if we can say for sure they'd have give up current gigs. The fact that ITV are creating this new programme suggests they're making a serious attempt to increase ratings from current levels otherwise they wouldn't be bothering.
