Scottish TV to ITV1 Scotland - The Petition

Hi guys!

Ok so I posted a poll not so long ago to see what you guys thought about Scottish TV branding. And so here is the result! I have made a petition ,for those who share the view that Scottish TV branding is long passed it's sell by date, to sign. If this applies to you please visit http://www.petitiononline.com/stv12004/ and sign the petition. Once there are enough signatures the petition will be presented to SMG Plc.

I wouldn't support your petition in a million years i am happy with the Scottish TV branding.

Me too!!! Oh and by the way would you also scrap Grampian branding? After I have seen some of the new itv stuff leave us the way we are!!!!

IMO, I don't think ITV Scotland would be right, instead they need to have a shake up:
1.Hire new announcers (more upbeat)
2.Update their idents
3.Show the ITV brand a bit more.
4.Don't let GTV and STV run down like UTV has..

Well thats my point of view anyway.

I also wouldn't sign your petition sorry, I think we should have more output and more of a regional brand rather than less.

Slightly off topic, but I noticed today that since ITV 1 has rebranded Scottish TV has new Next captions and now has it's own voiceovers with the end graphics like it used to years ago. That's excellent, about time, but how is this done?

It's done thanks to SMG now having a clean feed, so they're no longer forced to take network ECPs and voiceovers etc.

But the first steps start with an "Oh.... wouldn't it look nice if they all looked the same."
Then the rot sets in and there's no going back.

Balls- I say rename it ITV 1 Scotland...

...Sorry if I sound bitter but LWT has now dissapeared for good in favour of Granada London. I personally would like to keep the regional names but if LWT has to go then so should Scottish

I think it's high time there was an ITV1 Scotland (like there is an ITV1 Wales). Scottish and Grampian TV are crumbling. Besides, nobody I know calls it either 'Scottish TV' or even 'STV'. They all call it 'ITV1' or 'ITV'. There is no reason why we need to endure these awful excuses for idents any longer. We need to move on.
