Just back from a few weeks holiday and I can not take this in!!
It si not when STV/Grampian merge (they did that 7 years or so ago) it is when they close Grampian down!!!
It is outrageous that the will call the station STV - this would have been an ideal time for them to rename and rebrand both services then.
Scottish has always been known as STV so nothing changes there.
This should not be allowed to happen (although I did fear this when thet rebranded the Grampian news - North Today)

Did anyone see the new ECP tonight?
It's black with blue and white writing. And didn't have a channel logo.
I hope this won't be used when Scottish and Grampian merge.

I see that SMG are now saying that the 'S' in the new name STV may not even stand for Scottish....they are saying it stands for anything we want it to stand for?
How crazy is this.......viewers in the central belt will not notice any change (STV is still the name they have called Scottish since it changed in the 80's) but North Scotland viewers will loose the lot!!!
Mind you the 'S' could stand for Stonehaven......mind you the good folks in Stonie have not forgiven SMG for the shambles of a Hogmanay show so thats not the best choices of places.
It makes me sad to see Grampian go but if it had to happen then a brand new name should have been chosen......SMG say that it was the same for all the regions in England and Wales who now share a name.....maybe but that name is NOT Granada or LWT is it!!!!
