So Scotland is about to become the latest nation in the UK to switch to digital following on from Wales: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-13851016

I know this should really be in requests, but can anyone with access to Black Hill analogue transmissions record the channels (I imagine only BBC1 and maybe STV will do anything significant) for this historic event so we can compare it to the Welsh switch off?

Thanks

This was posted in the BBC 2 thread: BBC 2 closing down on Black Hill.

Anyone here recording tonight?

Betting on BBC One Scotland goes at 23:55 after In With The Flynns and STV at 00:30 after Inside I'm Dancing.

I'd have thought BBC One Scotland would go at 0:30 after Weatherview.

Looks like they've scheduled a random hour of the News Channel to get them into the Sign Zone, so that would be my guess too.

The BBC News website is already reporting that analogue has been switched off http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-13866284?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter - a little premature?

BBC One Scotland (analogue) is gone. Just cut to a black screen.

EDIT: STV, Channel 4 and 5 still on air.

EDIT #2: STV gone at 00.35, closely followed by Channel 4.

EDIT #3: And that's it. Channel 5 on analogue is gone.

No fanfare from any channel...was it really expected?

I'm surprised that the likes of Tony Currie didn't insist on outdoing Wales!

No bother. Wink Did anyone notice if BBC One Scotland or STV announcers mentioned the fact that the analogue signal would be switched off during the night?

BBC One Scotland did just before Weatherview, with a Transmitter Information slide.

I suspect the whole BBC Wales announcement was assembled and pre-recorded in advance, by some BBC Cardiff 'enthusiasts'. It would have required some over patching and rerouting of the analogue Tx chain. In other words, labour intensive, and not beancounter friendly. BBC Cardiff do have reputation for doing, 'anoraky' things. Didn't they go against the grain and remove the BBC Choice Wales DOG on their output ? Then there were the LOM and AtA idents. All credit to Cardiff, but I think BBC Glasgow are rather more conservative in their outlook ?

There's next to no chance of any English region doing a special, (none so far have) and the buildings are deserted at 00:00hrs anyway ?

All eyes to Belfast, for Divis, and the UK's last remaining analogue Tx at the end of next year then !
