I still don't see what you mean. It looks exactly the same as before.

SMG are now using more of the first method, compared with the normal way they package their trailers.

Oh I see what you mean now. By the way, who make SMG promos because they've scrapped their promo department apparently - ITV maybe?
Maybe this thread should be changed into 'Scottish TV/Grampian TV '.
We've drifted away from the main subject so it would make sense.
EDIT: Apologies for the slight error.

Scrapped their PRESENTATION department. How does it feel to be responsible for the death of seven people?
If there is no more continuity tonight on Grampian and Scottish,
YOU
will be responsible.I think you mean scrapped their promo making department. Yes, they are the ITV promos with the SMG branding added.

If there are any SMG lurkers on here, I bet you made them jump...
AFAIK network promos are sent up to Cowcaddens clean, and have simple graphics lopped on, along with a Scottish voiceover using the exact same script as the network version (feel free to compare SMG's ads to those on ITV2), right down to leaving in references to "England's champions league clubs", and God knows what else.
A lot of adverts for Scottish and Grampian programmes are, AFAIK, produced by the people behind the programmes. That's why a lot of them (mentioning no Scotsports) look a complete bloody shambles.
Has anyone got a more complete answer than this? Would be interested.

Apart from the regional promos Enzo,Lesley,Alison and co produced,SMG always did take the network promos and add SMG branding. Then the local announcers just revoiced them.Sometimes though the voices are NOT suited to the particular promo the NPU go to the trouble of getting the right voice to suit the promo and SMG just ruin them.SMG should just take the network promos their voiceovers are much better.

OMG
did you here the male announcer going into the ITV news just now."then at twelve fifteen we're off to oztrailyyyyyyya in Desperately Seeking Sheila now though it's the ITV news".That has to be the worst ozzie accent i have ever heard. It's also the wrong tone of mood to be going into the ITV news with.

The presentation is getting more random - a generic ident before a Scottish Edinburgh Festival programme tonight, yet the news sometimes has celebrities beforehand. And the 'new drama' promo without a voiceover looks incredibly stupid. The network one will have a logo at least telling you what channel you're meant to be watching, we on the other hand have four daft generic blue squares which could mean anything to the untrained viewer.
Mind you, the generic ident looks tidy enough. If the celebrity idents get too old fashioned, it might be an idea just to stick with that one. It's hardly UTV's big blue.

After the ads we had a rare SMG continuity announcement warning us about the strong language in the festival programme, despite having already done that before the programme started. New one on me for SMG - you normally get that from Channel 4. Haven't seen any evidence justifying the repeated warnings yet.
