Oh **** it's Scotsport time to switch sides it's just so poor.

So you don't fancy a Scotsport SPL Lucky Bag then Lewis. It contains a signed photo of your favourite presenter, SARAH O.

Thank goodness? You'd rather hear...

"Next, it's ..., then after that it's..., and later it's..."

That's what it seems like!

EDIT: Woo, 1000 posts!

Come on BBC Scotland, next year make sure you get the live matches before Setanta's £6 a game nonsense and get the highlights too. Nothing beats the BBC Sport Scotland coverage of a football match.

You will have a long wait .We are only in year two, of a four year EXCLUSIVE live match contract, awarded to Setanta.
BBC Scotland never bid for the SPL highlights package.

This was discussed on a football forum long ago when the first series of Scotsport SPHell came out, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm under the impression that the BBC could still bid for a highlights package for the SPL if the wished.

Great to see the UEFA cup on BBC2 Scotland was shown on Digital Satellite, makes a nice change from the Scotland Internationals that werent.

I'm not sure if it's a coincidence, but we had a clean ITV1 logo appear on the SMG night service at 4.35am for an extended period of time (about 10 seconds) before it crashed out into a Scotsport First promo, and then that tedious Talking Scotland nonsense.

Seems like an accident, but then there have been a lot of 'accidents' today by the looks of things.

Back to normal with what sounded like recorded continuity into nightscreen straight afterwards.

Could be a glitch, but are SMG perhaps not quite as insistent about barring ITV1 from their programming at the moment?

Btw - as much as we criticise the old-style generic ITV idents that SMG continue to insist on using, the current ITV1 logo, having seen it on screen properly for the first time, looks as cheap as hell. It really looks like some third-rate Sky One effort. Perhaps the celebrities weren't that bad an idea after all - albeit they were probably brought in partially to justify the use of a generic ITV1 name - along the lines that "The only way we could afford to do professional continuity like this, and not have the usual split between professional stations and those that aren't interested, is by doing promos for all of them". Either way, the current ITV1 logo really doesn't seem like a strong station identity at all, and conflicts harshly with the ITV News logo, which is based on the older logo.

They COULD, but choose not to.

BTW, has anyone else noticed that SMG are packaging a lot of their trailers in a new way? A clean promo, with just the four blue boxes, identical to the method sometimes used by ITV1. It is a refreshing change, and it is nice to hear the Grampian name, on a couple of regional trailers as well.

Do you mean that the blue boxes stay on for the duration of the promo? Not seen that for a while.

I wonder if SMG will rebrand when ITV do in September. They can't carry on with the celeb look for much longer.

No, I mean it is a clean promo till the end, when the blue boxes appear, as on the Survivors promo that just aired, if you were watching.
